What a ride! In the last 5 weeks we completed:
– the sea trial of our boat,
– hosted a farewell party to our house,
– packed up our home and moved, which included shipping 25 dish-pack size boxes to Florida for the boat
– lived with our friend Bobby O for a week,
– spent two weeks in Michigan at Dave’s family home,
– finally met all the stipulations for our boat loan,
– closed on the boat, and secured marine insurance.
Whew!!!

Now we are here! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Our new home is fantastic! We arrived late afternoon on Saturday, August 2nd. It all continues to be a whirlwind. In the next seven days we need to:
-unpack and move onto the boat
-complete 5 days of extensive systems and boat handling classes (given to us by Ray Danet, our amazing sales rep from Nordhavn SE)
-perform her official denaming and renaming ceremony (one must keep the sea gods happy)
-provision for her voyage from Florida to the Chesapeake
-accumulate the necessary spare parts and tools for her off-shore voyage (think 75+ items)
-receive our first two boat guests—Bobby O and Captain Jim Mobley are making the run to the Chesapeake with Dave

Check, check and check. All items accomplished on the list, plus we hosted a bonus impromptu party on the boat which included Ray, Russ (the worker of boat financing miracles) and his wife Carlin; and, Tim, Veronica and Scott Benoit. This was a good omen, as the party happened on the day we officially renamed her Three @ Sea.

No one thought the boat could handle all the boxes we shipped. She ate every one of them plus 6 suitcases and had room to spare! Of course, she was listing noticeably to port when we were done. Luckily, Ray showed us how to transfer fuel to balance her out. 🙂

Three @ Sea left this morning on her maiden voyage (as our boat) for the Chesapeake. May our fearless mariner’s experience nothing by clear skies and calm seas….
