Just a quick blog to give a “Cruiser Shout Out” to the Tri-Centennial Harbor and staff in downtown Detroit. This incredibly clean, centrally located (two blocks from the recently revamped Riverfront), inexpensive ($1 per foot, plus free electricity and water) and well-run marina is operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Clarence the Dockmaster and his right-hand man Josh are friendly, efficient, and glad to have visitors. It’s important to note this is not a resort marina, but it is a great stop over marina if you are transiting the Detroit River, or are planning a stop in Detroit to catch a Tiger’s game or listen to some local music. We stopped in Detroit to visit with Dave’s Dad and our friend Gary.

Dave in the water at the marina trying to scrub the Hudson river mustache off Three@Sea. The fact that he is in the water should tell you volumes about how clean the water in the marina is.
Two of my favorite food spots were the Eastern Market (R. Hirt & Co) and Avalon Bakery. Yum!
