Three@Sea on TV?

Maybe.

We have partnered with Atherton Pictures, a New Orleans-based television production company to pitch a weekly television series to the networks. It’s too early to know what the chances are for actually placing a television show, but the process has been interesting and exciting. Atherton Pictures put together a “sizzle reel”, which is like a teaser for the show, and a pitch package, which describes the content and logistics for the show. If you’re interested, click here to watch the sizzle reel.

The brief synopsis (log line) for the show is:

Optimism and determination fuel a 14-year-old girl and her parents as they circumnavigate the world on their boat, overcoming mother nature’s power, cultural chasms, mechanical failures, and 24×7 togetherness to ultimately discover what makes each place extraordinary.

The style of the show is travelogue meets docu-reality, and it will showcase a mixture of cruising life and cultural discoveries. The show will be family-friendly, and will appeal to multiple generations. In stark contrast to most reality-based television shows, we hope to highlight the best in humanity — time will tell whether there is any appetite for this kind of positive programming.

So the journey continues, both on the boat and on land. We’ll keep you posted as we navigate these uncharted waters of the television industry. Stay tuned!

    Hi guys!!!

A TV show sounds awesome!! Tell me where to call or email my support, you know I am behind you 100%.

Can’t wait to see you in December and for you to meet Whitney, Ashley and Emily.

    Talk to you soon.

    Hi Besemer Family!

It looks great!! I love the concept, I think you three are the right people to pull it off, and you’re right – it’s time for positive programming! You’d think with 200+ channels on most cable and dish networks there would be room for Three@Sea (especially since I can never find anything worth watching!)

I for one will watch. Good luck!

    Mike

    PS – Persistence…is everything.

Enjoyed the “sizzler”. I wish you all the best of look in pursuing the show. I don’t know if you remember me, we met you in Stuart, we were tied up next to you in the 47 Nordhavn. We especially enjoyed seeing our boat in the film clip. Hope you all are doing well, and we cross paths again!

Nice trailer! I would watch such a weekly show. It definitely beats drunken, unshaved and swearing crab fishermen.

  5. David says:

Great idea! Finally a “reality” show that is “real” and not contrived. Hope it woks out.

This will bring back a modern day version of Mutual of Omaha. Something the entire family could, and would want to watch. Carpe Diem my friends and good luck to you all.

WOW!!! the sizzle reel was amazing!!! Let’s see a station picking it up! It would see great for others to be able to taste some of your adventures!

  8. David Evans says:

Quite honestly, your show looks like the best program since flipper- and without capturing a wild dolphin. I love the positive concept, people, travel, Nordhavns and water. Tell us where to lobby for you, or is the proof in ‘You Tube” hits? I look forward to traveling in our own N-43, unfortunately, the kids are grown and working. You definitely made the correct timely move to do it now while Alysa is young, but now standing watch. I will mention your show on Nordhavn Dreamers.

    Best Wishes,

    David

As someone who has been watching your many youtube clips, and also setting up to do the great loop…I think the idea of a show is a great idea…I own a production company as well…if I can throw my 2 cents in…

Try to maybe pitch to some sponsors while/before pitching to networks. They like to see that you have other backers/potential sponsors already…it will save them time and leg work…I might suggest Garmin, Ray Marine, or Nordhavn. Again having a company or sponsor on your side will show a network the potential of ROI on the project.

I recently did a traveling show that was in the aviation industry…we pitched it it to many networks and was told the above…we then got a major airline involved as a sponsor…the network picked it up right away!!

    Hope this helps!!

  14. I always want more from this blog and your youtube channel. It would be nice to see you on a show. I think you probably could have left out the line about being ‘in stark contrast to most reality shows’.

  15. Gary and Tom says:

sounds like a plan is getting in place! We will be watching in the wings to see how it unfolds for you folks, in the meantime have a great holiday.

  16. I love it! What a great idea! I hope this works out for you. It’s about time we get something positive on tv and you’re just the folks to do it! Happy Thanksgiving!

  17. Mike Brajac says:

Come on producers–give these guys a chance–more to this kind of show than the mindless reality that seems to plaster the tv these days. Run it during the winter months and you have a ready audience in every landlocked boater.

  18. Deborah Brodigan says:

This is just awesome!!! Can’t wait to see more.
Exactly what people are wishing for in programming…. reality, excitement, and entertainment all at the same time. Stay safe.
